Murder Mystery Weekend
The Haunted Stone Lion Inn
Guthrie, Oklahoma
April 5, 2008
Who murdered Maggie Stubblefield? Was it the impeccably dressed Charles
David (Mike Macy) or his gossip columnist wife, India Brown (Kim Macy)?
These were just two of the 26 “characters” who participated in the Murder
Mystery at the Stone Lion Inn in Guthrie, Oklahoma on April 5th.
The evening began with a cocktail party blessed by our favorite priest,
Father Joseph Tornic (Jim Constantine). Soon after, we took a short drive to
the cemetery to visit the grave of our ancestor, Elmer McCurdy. At the
gravesite, we were treated to a moving eulogy chanted by Dr. Clayton
Freesoul (Bob Doherty) that was eloquently translated by his wife,
Riverwoman Freesoul (Jeanean Doherty).
Back at the Stone Lion over a wonderful dinner, and through dramatic
readings, the mystery began to unfold.
Throughout the evening, Sandra Orr Stubblefield (Kathy Griffin) never let
her wine bottle leave her hand. Her faithful companion, former OU football
quarterback, Lee Clodfelter (Steve Griffin), kept a watchful eye on her. The
hanging judge, Roy Clarkston (John Roland) was noted to have a roving eye,
even though his fiancee and legal secretary Doris Dimwitty (Suzanne Roland)
was constantly by his side.
Our favorite identical twins Ronnie and Donnie Eitelgorge (Janice Hiatt and
Toni Hatfield – or was it the other way around?) came dressed for their
parts. Unfortunately, Donnie’s “intestinal issues” kept everyone at bay.
Tennis pro and playboy Tommy Tinnin (Don Remack) was looking especially
buff, and his dear wife Tammy Coffin (Gwen Remack) wore a hat that was the
envy of everyone at the party. Gloria Goodbody (Anita Greiner) was so
relieved when her boyfriend, Boar, was able to make last minute arrangements
to be in attendance. Victoria Matucci (Kelley Phillips) world-renowned
horsebreeder, looked exceptionally equestrian in her striking outfit. And
all were thankful for the good doctor’s presence, Dr. Wallis Payne (Barbara
Constantine) who kept everyone calm throughout this evening of surprises and
murder!
