Sporting Clay Shotgun Event, Dinner & Party

• Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.

• Overnight accommodations are available, departing Sunday

• At Claythorne Lodge – Kansas. A two-hour drive from Tulsa (North of Vinita, OK), between Columbus and Oswego off Hwy 166. Directions will be provided.

• Main Shooting Event $18; Dinner, Party & Sunday Breakfast $29 members, $35 non-member guests.

  • Dinner and Party, including appetizers at Happy Hour (cash bar), Dinner, 6-piece band, Dance, & Sunday Morning Breakfast.

  • Other shooting events & lodging are optional & priced separately.

WHAT is SPORTING CLAYS?
Shotgun shooting of pairs of clay pigeons under simulated field conditions. These ‘birds’ or ‘rabbits’, as they are known, come (flying or bouncing) from left or right, crossing, flushing or angling shots at 12 shooting stations.

MAIN SHOOTING EVENT at 2:00 PM
Sporting Clays - $18.00* per shooter -- includes 50 birds spread over 12
shooting stations. A pleasant 1/2 mile walk for both spectators and shooters.
The trail is scenic, wooded, and slightly undulated.

• Practice rounds and instruction begin at Noon – Available throughout afternoon.

• Basic shooting instruction will be provided to beginners by Ski Club volunteers.

• Bring your own shotgun(s). Loaner shotguns hopefully available from other members.

• Practice rounds -45 cents* per bird. Beginner practice is easy. One single trap throws to same spot. Confidence builder.

• All pricing includes sales tax

  • $10 Wobble 25 birds* 3 stations, one elevated. 3 shooters each fire twice, 4 times in sequence without stop. Rotate position and repeat. 25th shot option if
    there is a miss.

  • $10 Five Stand 25 birds* 5 or less sequential shooters reload nonstop/shooting. Rotate stands-menu different as you move through 5 positions. No Walking.

  • $10 Standard Skeet 24 birds* 8 stations, double or single shots at singles and pairs. 25th shot taken after first miss. Absolutely no alcohol allowed during shooting events.

  • Shotgun shells are NOT included. Bring your own or they may be purchased at
    Claythorne Pro Shop. $7.00* per box – 12 or 20 gauge. *subject to change

• RULES: Stations and rules are designed for safety. For example, your shotgun cannot be loaded unless you are on the station platform with your shotgun
  between the uprights. You can load only two shells at a time. All shooters and spectators must wear ear and eye protection (plugs and [sun] glasses). Ear plugs available free from Claythone Pro Shop. Free ‘look-see’ of bird’s path
  available at each station.

• Official HAPPY HOUR: CLAYTHORNE SALOON – 5:00 PM. Free snacks and cash bar. Taxidermy wildlife of all varieties presented in western motif in Claythorne buildings. SALOON IS OPEN* anytime you finish shooting. Enjoy indoor or outdoor covered patios. *Cash bar, Beer only. BYOLiquor & BYOWine, no set-ups furnished.

• BRISKET DINNER – 6:00 PM With all the fixin’s - Claythorne Lodge PARTY & DANCE – 7:00 - 10:00 PM With Dueling Family 6 piece Band - featuring old and new Country and Western, and Classic Rock 1950's to 1960's, Cash Beer Bar. BYOL.

• BIG Country BREAKFAST – 8:00 AM Sunday Early coffee available. ALL FOR $29 (tax included).

• TRANSPORTATION Personal car and self initiated Carpool.
