January 13 – 18MLK Holiday Weekend
Winter Park — Beaver Village Condos

4 Ski Days — $345/person  Trip Captain: Bill Wright  712-9413

4 days of holiday skiing at Winter Park.

Choose the right ski terrain from five BIG mountains. From beginner to extreme:

·         Winter Park Mountain is the heart and soul of the resort, and has become
a haven for family skiing with its beautifully-groomed cruiser runs,
terrain parks, halfpipe and a host of popular learn-to-ski programs.

·         Mary Jane Mountain has developed a worldwide reputation for having some
of the best bump skiing in North America. It features long, unrelenting
mogul runs and steep, technical chutes

·         Vasquez Ridge is a favorite for many because of its beautiful vistas,
great sunny afternoons and powder stashes that tend to last long into the day.

·         Parsenn Bowl is a wide-open, high-alpine bowl is the site of the ski and
snowboard camps that last well into June. The views are just about
perfect and the terrain is ideal for intermediate and advanced skiers and riders.

·         Vasquez Cirque includes 435 acres of prime, off-piste terrain that
features a mix of cornices, rock outcroppings, steeps and glades.
This is for the extreme backcountry adventurer-conditions are
vastly different from other parts of the mountain.

Fly to Ski Fun

Salt Lake City – Little America Hotel

4 Ski Days — $822/person  Trip Captain: Lowell Whitlock 481-1036

4 ski days, 5 nights. Try this concept out — we’ll be staying in the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City, within walking distance of restaurants and entertainment. There’s a lot do see and do in Salt Lake — and you can do it without paying ski resort prices! Salt Lake City’s altitude is only about 4,300 feet, so altitude issues are a lot less severe.

Each day we will board our private tour bus and ride to whichever mountain we decide to ski. We can ski a different mountain each day — or double up on one we particularly like.

January 31 – February 6 — First Bus &  Second Bus

Flatland Ski Association Race Week

Copper Mountain — Copper Mountain Condos

                                 5 Ski Days — $507/person

Two buses for this season’s FSA race week.

 Bus 1 & 2 leaves 1/31 for 5 ski days.

Includes inter-club racing and lots of socializing with a hosted get-acquainted party, an awards banquet on the last night, and lots of improvised stuff in between.

 According to the current plan:

·         Bus 1 will be the traditional Flatlands trip and will draw a quieter, somewhat older crowd

·        Bus 2 will be a little less expensive and will draw a younger, more party-oriented crowd.

This is a guess, though, not a policy we’re going to try to enforce! Mix it up however you like.

One thing is for sure — with two buses full of racers; we stand a much better chance of winning trophies!

Spring Break

Crested Butte – Nordic Inn

4 Ski Days — $384/person   Trip Captain: John Hill 808-0987

4 days of spring break skiing at Crested Butte. It’s a great mountain with a variety of terrain. I learned to ski there and had fun on the green slopes, but the left side of the mountain features some very challenging double-diamond terrain.

Crested Butte is a long way from Denver and we should be able to avoid spring break crowds of Denver people.

Lodging at Nordic Inn, within walking distance of the lift base — no need to shuttle to the slopes. The Nordic is an old-fashioned ski lodge with a big living room-type lobby that is a great place to socialize or form groups for outings. Includes a lavish continental breakfast every day and a great welcome wine and cheese party the first night there.

Lots of great restaurants and entertainment, both at the mountain base and in town.
